Otherwise I seem to remember I had to compile it myself by compiling the ..\..\BaseClasses\baseclasses.dsw project. But I didn't find the lib file "strmbasd.lib" from DirectX SDK. Source

Same as i mentioned above, if i add strmbasd.lib to lib folders it gives more linker errors. Who created the Secret Stairs as a way into Mordor and for what purpose? I have that folder in my list of library folders... If you are building the debug version of your application, it expects to read the debug version of the library.
