If that doesn't work, see if the USB flash drive or CD-R version of my rEFInd boot manager will boot both Windows and Ubuntu. I told it to install itself in Kali's partition. this would give you all the partitions on your disk. If the rEFInd USB flash drive or CD-R works, you could install the PPA or Debian package to your hard disk.
