I guess this is only valid for VC since we don't seem to have this problem using gcc and gfortran. If gcc and gfortran on Windows aren't obeying that, they're in error. This linker error is really bothering me form a long time. Otherwise you can continue using VS2005 or use the Windows SDK build environment.
